The Quality and Learn Specialist is critical in driving consistent high-quality credit outcomes. Leveraging a strong background in credit underwriting this role is responsible for the governance and continuous improvement of the quality assurance (QA) framework and the design and delivery of training across our underwriting function.

The successful candidate will help ensure our underwriters are equipped with the skills knowledge and feedback needed to meet regulatory obligations and internal standards while working with Credit Leadership to foster a culture of accountability development and learning.

Key Responsibilities:
Quality Management
Conduct quality reviews of underwriting to ensure compliance with internal policies responsible lending obligations and regulatory requirements
Provide individualised coaching and feedback to underwriters to support development and improve performance
Proactively identify patterns in quality assurance results and provide actionable feedback and recommendations for improvement
Conduct and lead calibration sessions with relevant stakeholders to ensure consistent quality standards
Maintain and evolve QA criteria and scoring frameworks in line with changes to policy product and regulatory requirements
Prepare and circulate quality reports to key stakeholders highlighting performance insights and areas for focus

Training and Development:
Design and deliver underwriting training programs across new hire onboarding ongoing learning and policy/process updates
Maintain and manage underwriting knowledge bases ensuring accuracy usability and accessibility
Collaborate with credit leaders and SMEs to ensure training aligns with business needs and evolving requirements
Support Team Leaders in delivering coaching and development plans for individual underwriters
Monitor and track completion of mandatory training and ensure alignment with company standards
Foster a learning culture within the underwriting team with a focus on continuous improvement and operational excellence


About You:
Proven experience in underwriting within the Australian Finance or lending sector (consumer or commercial)
Strong understanding of responsible lending obligations and the National Consumer Credit Protection Act (NCCP)
3 years of Operations quality assurance
In-depth knowledge of operations and customer service principles practices and processes
Outstanding written and verbal communication skills with the ability to convey complex ideas clearlyStrong understanding of coaching practices and techniques with a focus on skill-building and performance improvement
High attention to detail to ensure accuracy in reporting documentation and quality reviews
Excellent interpersonal skills; able to build rapport develop and engage team members
Proven experience in a learning and development role is highly regarded however not essential
