Job Description

Purpose:

An opportunity has arisen within our Finance team for a Group Finance Manager within the Group Reporting team. The team includes several qualified accountants and sits within the wider finance department of c30 staff. The purpose of the role to ensure the accurate and timely provision of Financial Reporting information across the business including not only monthly management accounts but also forecasts analysis and ad-hoc investigation into the drivers of efficiency and performance in the business. The role reports into the Head of Finance.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • To manage and develop a team of five people.
  • To manage the accurate and timely provision of Financial Reporting information ensuring robust controls exist across the team.
  • To consistently review the control accounts to ensure accurate reporting of balance sheet.
  • Manage the preparation and analysis of the first review of management accounts and monthly reports for the group companies worksources and joint ventures including analytical review of trading divisions.
  • Provide financial input into strategic tactical and operational business cases and plans
  • Participation and support in the creation of budgets and forecasts for the company and group
  • Assist non finance staff with strategy and planning surrounding financial information.
  • Manage the audit and group reporting processes required for both LD subsidiaries and joint ventures.
  • Constant evaluation of processes within the team to ensure efficient process are used to deliver our services to our internal and external client.
  • Undertake ad hoc analysis and special projects as required

Skills/Competencies required:

  • Qualified ACA ACCA CIMA. This is an essential requirement for the role.
  • 5 year Post Qualified Experience.
  • Significant experience of managing an end-to-end month end process across multiple firms up to review and commentary with presentation to senior stakeholders.
  • Significant experience of managing annual statutory audits.
  • Significant experience of leading managing and developing teams to deliver excellent performance
  • Experience of producing Budgets and reporting variances against those budgets.
  • Experience of identifying and implementing new processes
  • A good grasp of cash management
  • A well-rounded accountant with the ability to get into the detail when necessary.
  • Excellent Excel skills including experience of working with substantial volumes of data. Knowledge of Power BI or similar software would be useful.
  • Good systems exposure.
  • Excellent communication skills to build strong working relationships across the organisation at all levels.
  • Ability to review the work of others and a coaching mentality.
  • Can work with a very high level of accuracy under pressure and to tight deadlines.
  • Ability to manage priorities often conflicting whilst delivering against tight deadlines.
  • Have the experience and the driving force to see projects through to the end.
  • Strong client focus.

Hybrid working:

This role would be based in our Bristol office with a combination of home and office working (typically working 2 days in the Bristol office and 3 days from home). You would therefore need the infrastructure in place to work from home and will be provided with a company laptop.
