Description

Purpose

We are seeking a dedicated and culturally responsive leader to guide and support our current outreach team with a strong focus on family engagement. This position will play a key role in deepening relationships with families especially those from historically underserved communities ensuring they have equitable access to early childhood services and support. By actively listening to and elevating family voices this role will help inform and shape services to better meet family needs strengthen trust and support long-term family engagement and retention within our programs. Through collaborative partnerships community-centered strategies and a trauma-informed healing-centered approach the Family Engagement and Outreach Lead will strengthen trust promote inclusion and build lasting connections that empower families and support their long-term well-being and success

Principal Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic leadership and vision for Kinderings Early Support outreach and family engagement efforts to strengthen relationships with families and build community awareness.
  • Guide and support the outreach team through resource sharing team facilitation goal tracking and cross-departmental coordination.
  • Prioritize engagement with historically underserved and marginalized familiesincluding immigrant refugee and BIPOC communitiesto ensure equitable access to services.
  • Develop and implement culturally responsive strategies that amplify family voice inform service delivery and foster trust and long-term engagement.
  • Establish feedback loops and parent advisory groups to ensure family input shapes program planning policies and practices.
  • Provide oversight to the outreach team to build and sustain strategic partnerships with community organizations to expand support networks and increase referrals to Early Support.
  • Maintain updated resource records to support data-informed planning and grant reporting.
  • Maintain outreach budgets
  • Apply a trauma-informed healing-centered approach in all engagement efforts to ensure respectful empowering and culturally responsive interactions.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Bachelors Degree in Social Work Early Education or related field strongly preferred.
  • Proven experience in outreach community engagement or a related field with an emphasis on working with underserved populations.
  • Strong understanding or lived experience of immigrant refugee and BIPOC communities and the challenges they face in accessing services and resources.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain partnerships with a variety of community stakeholders and organizations.
  • Familiarity with trauma-informed and healing-centered approaches in community work is preferred
  • Ability to convey information clearly professionally and effectively across diverse audiences.
  • Ability to collect analyze and report data effectively.

Minimum Prerequisites

  • Current CPR and first aid certification or complete within 6 months of hiring
  • Pass Washington State DSHS criminal history and background check and FBI fingerprint check
  • Demonstrate skill in word processing and familiarity with MS Word and Excel
  • Possess valid Washington State drivers license and valid automobile insurance
  • Have access to a dependable personal vehicle
  • Pass tuberculosis tests; current first aid and CPR certification
  • Ability to work some evenings or weekends
