Job Description

#213-CRT-06-25:

Special Education Teacher

Lincoln Elementary

1.0 FTE Continuing Contract

DESCRIPTION: Work with students grades K-5 with learning disabilities in the resource room. The teacher is responsible for writing IEPs and providing individualized programming for the students on their caseload academic assessments progress reporting and communicating with parents about student progress. Participate in appropriate activities; support programs and district in-service education programs; attend MDT building and district meetings and conferences as required. Other related duties.

QUALIFICATIONS: Valid Washington state teaching certificate with a Special Education endorsement preferred. Experience with writing and following the IEP and helping general education staff to design and implement differentiated programming in the core content areas. Must be able to work as part of a team and supervise the placement of special education classified staff that support the program. Knowledge of Special Education rules (state and federal). Must have excellent communication skills both verbal and written positive attitude and proven ability for organization and meeting timelines. Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred but not required. May require prolonged sitting or standing. Attendance and punctuality are important functions for this position.

SCHEDULE: OPEN UNTIL FILLED.
