Bethany Community School is seeking a dedicated and experienced Social Worker to join our Student Services team. The ideal candidate will be committed to supporting the academic social-emotional and behavioral growth of all students through collaborative data-informed practices. This professional will work closely with students families staff and community agencies to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Work Days:School Calendar plus 5 days before staff reports/5 days after last day of school including all PD days
Duties and Responsibilities
- Recommend programming curricula and instructional accommodations tailored to student needs
- Provide supportive services to students to ensure access to an appropriate educational program
- Conduct Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBAs) and assist in the development and monitoring of Behavioral Intervention Plans (BIPs).
- Collect analyze and monitor behavioral data to inform interventions and instructional strategies
- Offer a range of counseling services to individuals and groups addressing academic social and emotional challenges
- Collaborate in the development and implementation of Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and 504 plans.
- Support special education staff in crafting goals and strategies for students with diverse learning needs
- Provide consultation and coaching to staff on social emotional and behavioral management strategies.
- Design and evaluate interventions using individual classroom and program data.
- Implement social and behavioral supports to promote student success and a positive school climate.
- Contribute to the implementation of school-wide positive behavioral interventions and supports (PBIS) and social-emotional learning (SEL).
- Support crisis intervention efforts and design procedures to support students families and staff during critical events.
- Facilitate collaboration with community resources and agencies to meet student and family needs.
- Plan and deliver parent engagement activities to strengthen the home/school connections.
- Participate in school-wide committees problem solving teams and strategic planning efforts.
- Provide professional development to staff and administration as needed.
- Maintain accurate timely and confidential records per school policy and legal requirements.
- Communicate clearly and regularly with families regarding student progress strengths and needs.
- Remain current on best practices and developments in school social work through ongoing professional learning.
- Attend all scheduled faculty meetings
Education/Experience
- Valid Connecticut State Department of Education Certification (071) in School Social Work or Masters Degree in Social Work with appropriate certification
- Experience with trauma-informed practice
- Preferred experience at the elementary level
- Familiarity with the Data Team process and Mulit-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS)
- Certification in Physical Management Training (PMT) or willingness to be trained and certified
- Excellent interpersonal communication and organizational skills
- Strong commitment to equity inclusion and social-emotional well-being of all students
