About Us: The Anchored School is a nurturing and inclusive educational environment dedicated to fostering creativity critical thinking and a lifelong love of learning. We are looking for a passionate and dynamic Teacher to inspire our kindergarten and elementary students through the joy of music and Theater.
Job Description: You will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive music education program for students in kindergarten through elementary school. This includes teaching basic music theory vocal performance and introducing various musical instruments. The ideal candidate will create a positive and engaging learning environment that encourages students to explore their musical interests.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver engaging music and theater lessons for students in grades K-5.
- Teach music theory vocal skills instrument basics and introduction to different music genres.
- Create and direct performances including school musicals plays and talent shows.
- Foster an appreciation for the arts while promoting a love of music and theater in students.
- Collaborate with other teachers and staff to integrate arts into various subjects.
- Manage classroom behavior and ensure a safe and respectful environment for all students.
- Assess student progress and provide feedback to parents and guardians.
- Organize and participate in school events and performances.
- Prepare and maintain educational materials instruments and resources for lessons.
- Maintain communication with parents regarding student performance and events.
Qualifications:
- Some degree in music education Music or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of music theory vocal techniques and various musical instruments.
- Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
- Ability to inspire and engage students of all skill levels.
- Patience creativity and enthusiasm for working with children.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in organizing school concerts or musical events.
- Proficiency in playing multiple instruments.
- Previous experience teaching music to young children preferably in a school setting.
