Overview
The Ophthalmologist OPD Consultant plays a crucial role in delivering high-quality eye care services at our Yelahanka Bangalore location. This position involves assessing diagnosing and managing a wide range of ocular conditions ensuring that patients receive thorough examinations and personalized treatment plans. Given the increasing demand for specialty eye care the Ophthalmologist will be instrumental in enhancing our clinics reputation for excellence in ophthalmology. This role requires not only expert clinical knowledge and surgical skills but also the ability to communicate effectively with patients and their families. The consultant will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver comprehensive care stay abreast of advancements in the field and contribute to educational initiatives. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough eye examinations and assessments.
- Diagnose and treat various ocular conditions.
- Develop individualized treatment plans for patients.
- Perform surgeries as necessary including cataract and refractive surgeries.
- Interpret diagnostic imaging and test results.
- Manage post-operative care and follow-up consultations.
- Provide patient education on eye health and preventive care.
- Refer patients to other specialists when required.
- Maintain accurate and detailed medical records.
- Stay current with evolving ophthalmic practices and technologies.
- Participate in departmental meetings and case discussions.
- Collaborate with nursing and support staff for comprehensive patient care.
- Supervise and mentor junior medical staff and residents.
- Offer telemedicine consultations as required.
- Engage in community outreach programs to promote eye health.
Required Qualifications
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or equivalent in Ophthalmology.
- Medical License to practice in India.
- Minimum of 3 years experience in an ophthalmology consultancy role.
- Certification in advanced surgical techniques preferred.
- Strong knowledge of ocular pharmacology.
- Excellent diagnostic and clinical skills in ophthalmology.
- Proficient in using electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
