What will you be doing
As a Project Engineer youll join our dynamic team in Derby playing a key role in driving forward high-impact projects within the cutting-edge nuclear sector.
Your main responsibilities will be:
- Assisting the local engineering lead in building and maintaining detailed Level 4 project schedules (using tools like MS Project or Primavera P6).
- Feeding critical timelines and cost information into higher-level programme plans.
- Creating clear and compelling visual project dashboards that show progress performance and any blockers.
- Producing regular project reports including narratives risk summaries and progress updates for senior stakeholders.
- Tracking day-to-day engineering tasks ensuring that work completed matches up to the planand adapting as needed when things change.
- Ensuring all risks are logged monitored and assigned to the right engineering owner.
- Working closely with both engineers and project managers to maintain clear communication and alignment on project status.
Who are we looking for
- Be confident using project planning tools like Microsoft Project or Primavera P6.
- Be able to visualise complex data and present it in a clear easy-to-understand format.
- Understand the importance of risk tracking and reporting in an engineering environment.
- Be able to work independently and suggest improvements to project reporting processes.
- Enjoy being the key point of contact between engineering teams and project managers.

Qualifications :
Experience skills and qualifications required:
- Experience in mechanical handling operations including the development of detailed multi-stage construction phase plans for complex engineering projects with components progressing through different levels of technical maturity.
- Degree or equivalent experience in Engineering Project Management or a related technical discipline.
- Strong understanding of engineering project lifecycles and resource planning.
- Experience in a technical engineering-led environment is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- A proactive mindset with a passion for keeping complex projects on course.
