Job Description
The University of Nevada Reno is seeking a Coordinator Housing Assignments to lead and manage the universitys housing assignments operations. This position plays a key role in supporting the Residential Life Housing & Food Services team by ensuring an efficient student-centered housing experience for approximately 3500 residents. The Coordinator is responsible for overseeing all aspects of room assignments including initial placements roommate matching and room change processes. This position also supports administrative functions such as coordinating meetings and events maintaining records and databases assisting with budget tracking and ensuring compliance with university policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage housing assignments and occupancy processes ensuring accuracy and timely communication with residents.
Facilitate roommate matching and coordinate room changes to support a positive residential experience.
Serve as a primary point of contact for housing-related inquiries providing clear and responsive communication to students and stakeholders.
Maintain housing systems and databases; ensure compliance with relevant policies and procedures.
Collect and analyze housing data; prepare reports and make recommendations for service improvements.
Assist with budget monitoring and purchasing for housing operations.
Contribute to special projects and support broader department initiatives as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Bachelors Degree and two (2) years of related work experience
Masters Degree and one (1) year of related work experience
Related Experience:
Experience in program coordination management or a similar role
Experience in customer service data entry & management or higher education or related experience
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in student housing higher education or a related administrative role.
Excellent communication organizational and problem-solving skills.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and collaborate with diverse teams.
Familiarity with housing management systems or student databases is a plus.
Schedule or Travel Requirements
The Coordinator maintains full-time office hours to include evening/weekend hours for programs and training; be on call status and react to emergency situations as needed
The Coordinator may be asked to travel to regional and national conferences
