Job Title: Production Engineer
Location: 4455 Olympic Boulevard Erlanger KY 41018
Job Duties: Oversee manufacturing process and ensure food products are reliable by keeping with effective operations and cost factors utilizing knowledge of product technology production methods and procedures and capabilities of machines and equipment.
Detailed Duties:
- Reviews production schedules engineering specifications and process flows to identify bottlenecks deviation points and inefficiencies.
- Plans directs and coordinates the production activities in the plant and ensures labor standards are met daily.
- Maximizes efficiency and elimination of process management deviations.
- Institutes control systems to generate financial planning minimize cost and improve overall area efficiency.
- Implements quality control systems to resolve problems eliminate deviation reduce customer issues and minimize company risks.
- Build complex spreadsheets and understand MRP systems which collect data. Analyze data and problem solve areas for improvement.
- Use Lean techniques and Six Sigma to aid in process improvements and cost savings projects.
- Communicates issues encountered such as raw material problems finished product rejections and equipment malfunction to the plant manager as well as quality control and maintenance.
- Monitors line equipment for functionality safety and cleanliness. Performs daily GMP audits and sanitation audits and addresses issues with Supervisors.
- Confirming with clients managers vendors and cross functional teams inside and outside of the organization to understand improve and design production systems for maximum throughput quality and efficiency.
- Ensures compliance with Safety Standards and promotes a safe work environment.
- Takes the lead in identifying performance issues and providing guidance coaching and progressive discipline as needed.
- Holds supervisor meetings on a weekly basis discussing a variety of department related issues.
- Performs other duties as assigned by Plant and Senior Management.
Specific Skills or Other Requirements:
Additionally the applicant must have experience with:
- Experience with AS 400 MRP systems and Microsoft applications.
- Experience with Sanitary Design of equipment concepts and methodologies.
- Experience with labor calculations including fringes Cost per Hundred Weight (CWT) efficiencies and Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).
- Experience with Total Predictive Maintenance (TPM) Lean Manufacturing Complex spreadsheets Control Charting and variation reduction.
- Experience with GMPs HACCP SQF and BRC.
