DESCRIPTION A 6th-grade middle school science and social studies teachers job typically includesplanning and delivering engaging lessons assessing student progress and fostering a positive learning are responsible for implementing standards-aligned curriculum engaging students in learning and communicating with parents and school administration.
Key Responsibilities:
- Curriculum Development and Implementation:
Plan and deliver lessons for middle school science and social studies ensuring alignment with curriculum standards and addressing diverse learning needs. - Instructional Strategies:
Employ various teaching methods including hands-on activities discussions and technology integration to engage students and promote critical thinking. Evaluate student understanding through a variety of assessments including tests projects and presentations and provide feedback to inform instruction. Create and maintain a positive and respectful classroom environment managing student behavior effectively. Communicate regularly with parents guardians and school administration regarding student progress and any concerns. - Professional Development:
Stay updated on current educational practices and participate in professional development opportunities. Work collaboratively with other teachers staff and administrators to support student learning. - Extracurricular Activities:
May be involved in extracurricular activities such as clubs or teams to provide additional opportunities for student engagement.

SCHEDULE: This is the equivalent of a full-time exempt position which works Monday-Friday from 7:15 AM - 3:15 PM with a 30-minute lunch break as commensurate with the hours the school is open. Time off shall coincide with the NCS teacher schedule and school holidays.
