Job Description

SCHOOL INFORMATION

NorthPointe Christian Schools isan independent Christian school formed in 1972 serving over 1300 preschool through high school students from over 120 churches. NPC pairs academic excellence with a strong Christ-centered environment to reach our mission of equipping students to impact their world for Jesus Christ.

POSITION SUMMARY

This is a full-time position for the 2025-2026 school year as a Spanish Immersion ESS/Intervention Para at our Elementary School.

The purpose of this position is to build belonging in partnership with teachers and families fostering a climate for students of various gifts and abilities to achieve their God given potential.

EMPLOYEE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support the Schools Foundational Statements and mission through word and deed.
  • Integrate Biblical principles and Scripture into daily activities.
  • Minister to students through prayer encouragement and wise counsel.
  • Follow safety protocols for where students can be and how to secure the building.
  • Professionally represents the school in interactions with parents community staff and students.
  • Remain professional in attire and behavior.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all matters pertaining to students employees and donors as outlined in NPCs Confidentiality Agreement.
  • Be timely in reporting to work and when at work.
  • Carry out the procedures and protocols in the employee handbook and respect decisions made by leadership.
  • Maintain open communication with leadership regarding questions concerns and needs.
  • As a representative of the school all written and verbal interactions with parents/guardians co-workers and the community must be professional and reflect the school positively. This includes ones appearance the content of the communication and presentation of it.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES &DUTIES

  • Assist ESS Coordinator to provide regular education teachers with accommodations/modifications and behavior management programs for students with special needs.
  • Demonstrate a growth mindset in believing that each student has the potential to succeed
  • Provide support for students with disabilities inside the classroom to enable the student to reach his/her full potential.
  • Support students with behavioral concerns and/or learning and/or emotional disabilities.
  • Implement individualized instruction for targeted students including accommodations and modifications curriculum adaptations and behavioral plans.
  • Assist with NPC record keeping and filing.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

  • Bilingual: Advanced to superior level if non-native speaker.
  • Active Christian in agreement with and willing to sign the NorthPointe Christian Schools Foundational statements.
  • Able to pass required background checks and fingerprint screening.
  • Openness to development of teaching skills.
  • Flexibility in team/student demands.
  • Discernment and creativity in meeting student needs.
  • Bachelors Degree
  • Exhibit the verbal ability to understand meaning of words the ideas associated with them and the ability to convey them to others clearly using oral expression and comprehension.
  • Display a willingness to learn and share insights tips and strategies learned along the way.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

  • Physically able to:
    • Frequently stand and sit for extended periods of time.
    • Frequently use manual dexterity and/or mobility to grasp and/or manipulate objects operate equipment and move around the classroom.
    • On occasion engage with students while kneeling squatting stooping or bending 50-70 degrees at the waist.
    • Exert up to 25 pounds of force to lift carry push pull or otherwise move objects.
    • Perform daily repetitive movement of fingers and hands when writing and typing.
    • Read printed and electronic material daily. See with clarity objects using close distant and peripheral vision.
    • Sufficiently hear conversations in person and distinguish sounds clearly up to 20 feet.
  • Must be able to maintain continuous safety of the students and respond quickly and appropriately to any threat toward their well-being.
