Tired of being stuck in one place all day Looking for a change in scenery In this fast-paced career-growth position you will assist the Facilities Manager in maintenance work and projects at various locations. If you have knowledge of trades (carpentry plumbing and/or electrical) and are a self-starter with working knowledge of MS Outlook and smart phones (for the electronic work orders system) then this is the perfect job for you.

Today we are a leading not-for-profit agency employing 1300 staff and providing over 80 program sites in Nassau and Suffolk. ACLD assists children teens and adults in reaching the highest level of independence with the freedom to ASPIRE HIGHER in their hopes dreams and accomplishments. We are currently seeking a few exceptional people who have a passion to create a meaningful impact in the lives of the amazing people we support.
In this role you will:
- Complete all assigned work paperwork and projects in a timely manner.
- Complete all schedules (listed in maintenance manual) and any additional items required for program and/or building certifications.
- Complete seasonal preventative maintenance projects such as power washing furniture moving landscaping and snow removal and assist other maintenance workers as assigned.
We require:
- Clean valid NYS drivers license.
- Prior experience in carpentry plumbing electrical or other related building trades.
- The ability to work at various heights while using extension ladders to access roofs lighting etc. and ability to lift a minimum of fifty (50) pounds.
- Verbal/written communication skills including the ability to provide or obtain information to interpret and advise to clarify understanding.
- Strong reasoning skills and ability to work with minimal supervision.
This is a full-time position (Monday Friday 8am 4:30pm) andrequires travel to locations throughout Suffolk and Nassau using Agency vans.
It is eligible for medical/dental and has a generous paid-time off package.
