Join Nottingham City Council as our Senior Assurance Officer and play a pivotal role in shaping the citys transformation journey. Youll oversee high-risk high-value programmes that are redefining how we deliver for our internal services and wider communities.

What Youll Be Doing
As our Senior Assurance Officer you will:
Lead a consistent independent assurance framework across our Change portfolio
Provide expert advice critical analysis and guidance through all phases of a projects lifecycle
Spot early risks challenge assumptions and help teams respond before issues escalate
Standardise documentation streamline governance and promote lessons learned
Build trusted relationships with senior stakeholders across the organisation
Connect strategy with delivery ensuring projects align with our citys bold ambitions
Foster a culture of learning improvement inclusion and transparency
Youll work at the heart of a collaborative purpose-driven team- influencing how transformation happens and helping shape what success looks like across Nottingham.
Who Were Looking For
Youll thrive in this role if you:
Have a strong background in assurance governance or project/programme management
Are analytically sharp with a keen eye for detail and risk
Are confident in providing constructive challenge and evidence-based insight
Understand the need for agility structure and transparency in complex delivery environments
Can hold your own in discussions with senior leaders and commissioners
Have a natural curiosity and drive for continuous improvement
Value equality diversity and inclusion and embed these into your work and relationships
What You Bring:
Experience leading or embedding assurance processes in change environments
The ability to analyse complex data and communicate clearly to a wide audience
A confident professional style when challenging decisions or raising concerns
Strong stakeholder management able to balance competing priorities and interests
A track record of supporting learning improvement and innovation
