Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assisting in the processing of reports received through the safety reporting system.
- Collaborating with supporting and assisting with the development implementation and monitoring of safety policies procedures and programs to raise safety standards and to foster a culture of safety throughout the organization.
- Assisting in analyzing hazards incidents and accidents identified by the Cargojet SMS.
- Assisting with safety investigations when required.
- Assisting in monitoring and evaluating the results of corrective actions with respect to hazards incidents and accidents.
- Identifying opportunities to minimize incidents in the operations.
- Providing support for the maintenance of the safety data system.
- Providing support in the identification of all applicable standards recommended practices legislations and regulatory requirements (i.e. IOSA Transport Canada etc.) to ensure compliance with mandatory regulations.
- Assisting in maintaining the different department Manuals.
- Reporting on safety awareness issues and statistics.
- Preparing reports on occurrences and provide statistical information.
- Developing safety-related content for communication tools as required.
- Day-to-day administration and record keeping of the various training programs.
- Identifying safety and security training requirements for all staff members.
- Overseeing that training in general is being completed company-wide.
- Creating and updating training courses in the Jet Train application.
- Updating the Jet Train application with employee status and information received from HR.
- Providing support to users of the various applications (SMS App SMS Database Jet Train Audit Management Application)
- Fulfilling all SMS Duties and Responsibilities required of employees.
- Performing other duties as designated.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Post-secondary education and/or relevant work experience of at least 1 year experience in an SMS related position
- Familiarity with conducting data analysis and reporting statistics.
- Strong analytical organizational and planning skills with an aptitude for precision.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to maintain effective work relationships.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Good working knowledge of Company Policies and Procedures.
- Good knowledge of PC hardware and software applications.
