The Illinois Department of Natural Resources is looking to hire a Site Assistant Superintendent II at Wayne Fitzgerrell State Recreation Area for The Office of Land Management. This position will provide guidance and training to assigned staff reassign staff to meet day-to-day operating needs operate trucks and tractors trap and release birds for field trials attend meetings and review construction plans to prepare for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers 19000-acre Rend Lake Reservoir Wayne Fitzgerrell SRA is a gateway to Southern Illinois biggest outdoor playground - a paradise for outdoor recreation for all ages and interests. The park offers outstanding opportunities for hunting fishing camping picnicking hiking and other outdoor recreational pursuits. Charged with preserving protecting and promoting Illinois natural and cultural resources Illinois Department of Natural Resources (IDNR) employees oversee water wildlife wetlands and oil wells parks historic sites and everything in between. Division Statement
The Office of Land Management (OLM) oversees nearly 400 individual parcels of land and institutes a wide variety of programs and activities advocating outdoor recreation through sustainable use conservation and preservation. The Historic Sites Division of the Office of Land Management oversees 57 Historic Sites Monuments and Memorials. OLM facilitates activities from small group interpretive programming at Historical Sites to hiking hunting fishing boating and camping.
Work Hours: January 16 - October 31: Friday-Tuesday 7:30AM - 3:30PM w/ 1/2 hr. Lunch (Wed/Thurs off);November 1 - January 15: Wednesday-Sunday 6:30AM - 2:30 PM w/ 1/2 hr. Lunch (Mon/Tues off)
