Job Type: Part-Time Flexible Hours (combination of remote and then onsite at the Center as needed for key meetings/events)
About Us: The William J Flynn Center is dedicated to fostering cultural understanding and community engagement through diverse programs and initiatives. We are seeking a passionate and dynamic Cultural Outreach Coordinator to join our team and help us build bridges across cultures. The Cultural Outreach Coordinator would be responsible for helping to book and oversee roughly six annual events centered on Irish music poetry history film and art. All events will be open to the University and the public so part of this role will include marketing the events in the Houston area. The Cultural Outreach Coordinator will work closely with the Development Office at St. Thomas as well as the Center Director.
Our nationally and internationally renowned Flynn Center for Irish Studies is one of USTs six Centers for Excellence and features academic cultural outreach and study abroad programs. We provide our students with a broad array of interdisciplinary courses taught by UST faculty. The Irish Studies program offers a minor in Irish Studies at the undergraduate level and a concentration in Irish Studies in the Master of Liberal Arts program at the graduate level. Most of our courses are open for the public to audit with the professors permission and space availability.

Job Summary: The Cultural Outreach Coordinator will be responsible for developing and implementing outreach programs that promote awareness of Irish culture. This role involves working closely with Irish related community organizations schools arts venues and other stakeholders such as the St. Thomas student body to create and deliver programs that celebrate Irish cultural heritage and foster mutual understanding.
