Overview
Our Grand Rapids MI office is looking for a Civil Engineer - Bridge Design Engineer with at least 2 years of related experience
As a Structural Bridge Design Engineer with Modjeski and Masters you will work on a variety of challenging and rewarding bridge engineering projects for a myriad of transportation clients. As a member of our team youll be immediately responsible for performing engineering tasks under the careful supervision of established and respected professionals. Youll have opportunities to interact directly with clients become a valued partner on a variety of high-impact projects and apply fresh insights at every stage of a bridges life cycle. Qualifications
Position Available:
- Entry level
- Ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of related experience
Education and Licensure Requirements:
- At minimum aBS in Civil or Structural Engineeringfrom an ABET accredited college or university
- Home - ABET
- Michigan PE license preferred but not required
- MDOT experience is preferred but not required
General Responsibilities Skills and Abilities:
- Reviews and check standard structural design calculations.
- Perform rating and design tasks.
- Perform limitedstructural analysis and design of standard bridge componentsusing general analysis software client-specific software and in-house programs under direct guidance from Project Managers and senior-level engineers.
- Develop preliminary details using CAD software and provide information to CAD technicians for development of contract plans directly related to design work
- Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned including occasional field service assignments.
- Knowledge of Microstations and Bentley OpenBridge Modeler.
- Ability to work in a team environment onbridge related projects.
- Basic knowledge of computer assisted drafting and design.
- Ability to use standard engineering analysis software.
- Good oral and written communications skills with a fluency in English.
