As an intern in NPC assay formats (Near Patient Care RED Chapter- NPC RED) you will have the opportunity to be a part of an innovative and a global team. The NPC RED Chapter is located in Mannheim and develops innovative diagnostic solutions for near-patient testing. We work together with departments from Research & Development Diagnostics Production Business Development and the Life Cycle Teams.
Your Tasks:
Screening of patents literature and clinical studies relevant to the project
Exploring novel consumer and medical-grade wearables for their usability and data potential.
Contribute to data collection and data analysis
Work alongside experienced researchers to learn about clinical trial design and execution
Providing regular updates to cross-functional team of clinical scientists biomarker experts data scientists and IVD experts
Who You Are
We are looking for an individual who is inspired by our mission and would fit in well with the collaborative and dynamic culture of our company.
To be successful in this role you are (and have):
Currently enrolled in a bachelors or masters program in a relevant field (e.g. healthcare informatics biomedical engineering computer science biostatistics)
High interest and thorough technical knowledge of how digital wearables (consumer wearables/medical grade wearables) detect analyze and transmit information of body metrics
Proficient in data analysis software (e.g. R MATLAB Python SAS).
Skilled in writing (reports documentation SOPs)
A fast learner with a strong work ethic and a meticulous attention to detail
Fluent in English (German language skill would be an added advantage)
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Passionate about innovation and improving healthcare through technology

Please remember that this internship is aimed at students (m/f/d) who are currently enrolled for the entire period of the internship or alternatively at people in a gap year of a maximum of one year (between Bachelors and Masters studies) where it can be proven in writing at which university/college and exactly when (month/year) within a year the studies will be continued.
Period: from August 2025 for a period of maximum 6 months.
