Detail Draftsperson (SolidWorks) – Remote

AWMA is seeking a Detail Draftsperson for SolidWorks to join our innovative design and engineering team.

About the Role:

As a Detail Draftsperson at AWMA youll play a vital role in bringing our engineered solutions to life. Working closely with our product designers project engineers and project managers you will convert 3D models into highly detailed 2D manufacturing drawings using SolidWorks.

These drawings are essential to ordering and fabricating the world-class mechanical products that support AWMAs water control infrastructure across Australia and internationally. Your precision and technical skill will directly contribute to the successful delivery of innovative water solutions for a wide range of projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure that 2D detail drawings are produced in accordance with AWMAs quality guidelines.
• Strive for accurate and timely submission of drafting milestones for the Draft and For Construction stages.
• Provide accurate and clear drawings DXFs and Bills of Materials (BOMs) to support procurement and production.
• Liaise with Designers Project Engineers and Project Managers to ensure technical clarity and the best project outcomes.
• Support factory teams by resolving drawing-related queries and ensuring manufacturability.
• Contribute to the ongoing refinement of AWMAs drafting standards and processes.

Key Selection Criteria

Proficiency in SolidWorks with a focus on Detailed 2D drafting (minimum 3 years experience).

Experience preparing manufacturing drawings.

Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality accurate documentation.

Understanding of mechanical components and manufacturing processes.

Ability to interpret and produce technical drawings and BOMs.

Excellent communication and time management skills.
