Job Description
This is a two-year full-time TERM position working 75 hours bi-weekly.

The Assessment and Abandoned Mines (AAM) branch leads directs and oversees the management and remediation of abandoned mines in the Yukon. Effectively delivering this service to the people of the Yukon requires commitment to the highest levels of professionalism. Our work is focused on environmental protection health and safety effective project delivery and sound financial planning.
The Senior Project Manager is responsible for the leadership and management of multifaceted projects including planning implementing and overseeing care and maintenance programs mine water management construction remediation engineering design and various forms of technical monitoring at remote abandoned mine sites. We are looking for a highly motivated and committed individual who has proven experience in project management fiscal accountability and a solid understanding of the underlying technical issues associated with large scale abandoned mines or sites with similar complexity. The ideal candidate is an individual with an engineering background and experience leading remediation projects overseeing engineering design projects and applying risk-based decision making to complement the skill sets in our multidisciplinary team. We value candidates with excellent interpersonal communication and problem-solving skills.

Essential Qualifications
Please note that the selection for further consideration will be based solely on the information you provide in your resume. Please submit your resume clearly demonstrating the following qualifications skills and experience in the following areas:
- Post-secondary degree in engineering (civil mining geological or environmental) or a post-secondary degree in science in a related field;
- Experience managing and leading large complex projects including work planning scheduling budget preparation and management communications and contract management;
- Experience in building partnerships within and outside your organization;
- Experience leading and working within teams with diverse interests and skills; and
- Experience in implementing projects on active or abandoned mine sites or sites with similar technical challenges; including geotechnical investigations water management infrastructure projects and civil engineering design would be an asset.
Candidates who do not have requisite educational qualifications but possess significant experience equivalent to the essential qualifications listed above will be equally considered.
