Software Engineering Manager - PaaS
Why We Have This Role
Qualtrics is seeking a Software Engineering Manager to join our growing PaaS Engineering team in our Seattle office. As part of our efforts to expand our engineering capabilities this new headcount is crucial for supporting the increasing demand for our platform-as-a-service solutions. As a Manager Software Engineering you will guide a team of engineers in building simple solutions to solve hard problems. You will drive product or platform development from roadmap planning through engineering execution to production operations. While managing employees you will also get your hands dirty by executing actual engineering tasks.

How Youll Grow
- Support the continued growth of the Qualtrics XM customer base by building and leading a team of talented and passionate software development engineers based in Mexico.
- Leverage your experience in the full spectrum of activities involved in building and scaling product teams.
- Focus on developing our Mexico expansion into an engineering hub.
- Take on a zero to one leadership role interacting across Qualtrics product engineering leadership.
- Act as a site owner to drive team and cultural fitness.
Things Youll Do
- Own the engineering roadmap for the product and work with stakeholders to build quarterly plans.
- Actively manage teams of employeesgathering and providing candid feedback mentoring and coaching individuals while delegating appropriately.
- Instill best practices for software development and documentation ensuring designs meet requirements and deliver high-quality work on time.
- Drive planning meetings collaborate with peers prioritize features and work with a sense of urgency to deliver value to customers.
- Guide your team in developing scalable and robust SaaS and PaaS products to solve complex business problems.
- Work directly with our global clients to provide solutions and ensure a great customer experience.
- Help grow the Mexico site and global team of software engineers implementing hiring plans and career development strategies for the engineering team.
What Were Looking For On Your Resume
- Proven experience managing and coaching software developers from graduate level to seasoned professionals.
- Proactive and able to deliver on initiatives you start; you have a proven record of driving results.
- Strong background in object-oriented design and development with languages such as Java .NET C# Python Ruby or C.
- Experience building owning and operating highly scalable and highly available internet-facing software services.
- Expertise in modern web development technologies (JavaScript CSS HTML Ruby on Rails) and modern JavaScript frameworks (e.g. Angular D3).
- Experience as a site leader or supporting large global teams.
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science Computer Engineering or a related field.
- 8 years of experience as a software engineer and software engineering manager.

For full-time positions this pay range is for base per year; however base pay offered may vary depending on location job-related knowledge education skills and experience.A sign-on bonus and restricted stock units may be included in an employment offer in addition to a range of medical financial and other benefits based on eligibility criteria.
