Are you an experienced pharmacist with leadership experience looking to take your career to the next level Our esteemed health system is seeking a dedicated and dynamic Inpatient Pharmacy Manager to oversee our pharmacy department services for one of our hospitals within our Greater Atlanta hospital network. This is an exceptional opportunity to lead a team dedicated to delivering outstanding patient care.
About the Role:
As the Inpatient Pharmacy Manager you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and effective management of our pharmacy services. You will supervise and coordinate daily operations encompassing everything from controlled substance management to medication dispensing and sterile product compounding. Your leadership will help foster a culture of excellence by ensuring that all staff demonstrate professionalism and high levels of customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily pharmacy operations to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Manage and coordinate activities related to the control and distribution of medications.
- Maintain controlled substance inventory and manage the destruction of controlled substances.
- Recruit hire and train pharmacy staff developing a comprehensive orientation program.
- Collaborate with management to establish quality controls and best practice protocols.
- Develop staff scheduling and ensure equitable handling of requests.
- Assist in budget development policy creation and the overall strategic direction of pharmacy services.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Current licensure with the Georgia State Board of Pharmacy.
- Graduated from an accredited college of pharmacy.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Two years of experience as a staff pharmacist.
Key Skills and Attributes:
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational abilities with a knack for problem-solving.
- Proficiency in pharmacy-related computer systems and technology.
- Understanding of USP-797 requirements and practices related to sterile compounding.
- Solid financial acumen for managing department budgets effectively.
