As Omnicell strives to position itself as a premier digital healthcare company Senior Cloud Engineer is an experienced professional who will play a key role in support of those efforts by leading creating and extending the Omnicell 340B products. This person is a highly skilled cloud engineer who can apply industry and corporate best practices in designing implementing managing and supporting our Microsoft Azure cloud infrastructure. This role requires a strong understanding of cloud computing principles Azure services automation and security best practices. This person will work closely with development operations and security teams to ensure our cloud environment is secure scalable reliable and cost-effective.
Responsibilities
Understand how Omnicell solutions meet our customers needs and how our suite of products is used across the continuum of care.
Work as part of a Product Engineering team to Design deploy and manage robust scalable and highly available cloud solutions on the Microsoft Azure platform. This includes virtual machines storage networking databases and application services.
Implement automation solutions for repetitive tasks deployments monitoring and operational activities using PowerShell Python Azure CLI or other scripting languages.
Monitor cloud resources for performance availability and cost. Optimize configurations to ensure efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
Implement and maintain security best practices within the Azure environment. Ensure compliance with industry standards and internal policies. Manage access controls network security groups (NSGs) firewalls and other security features.
Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code scripts using tools like Azure Resource Manager (ARM) templates Terraform for automated provisioning and configuration management.
Provide technical support for Azure-related incidents and problems. Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Azure services connectivity and performance. Participate in on-call rotation as needed.
Work closely with development teams to support CI/CD pipelines and integrate cloud services. Collaborate with security teams to ensure a secure cloud posture.
Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for cloud architecture configurations processes and procedures.
Keep abreast of the latest Azure services features and best practices. Evaluate new technologies and recommend improvements to existing infrastructure
Adhere to software development design standards and processes along with best practices for delivery of scalable and high-quality software.
Required Experience Knowledge and Skills
Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g. PowerShell Python Azure CLI).
Solid understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP DNS HTTP/S VPNs firewalls).
Experience with DevOps principles and CI/CD pipeline implementation (e.g. Azure DevOps GitHub Actions).
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with keenattention to detail.
Proficiencyin Agile/Scrum software development lifecycle management
Self-motivated independent worker who is driven to deliver results without close management.
Ability to communicate well and work with other team membersand can foster team and peer loyalty.
Be able to work efficiently in a high pressured and fast-paced environment.
Excellent prioritization skills to deliver multiple projects in a timely manner.
Sense of urgency and adherence to deliverable dates.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Computer Science or a related field
7 years of proven experienceworking as a Cloud Engineer with a strong focus on Microsoft Azure
2 years as a SQL Server DBA / Data Engineer in a large enterprise environment.
Preferred Qualifications
Masters degree
Microsoft Azure certifications
Experience with containerization technologies (e.g. Docker Kubernetes).
Experience in Amazon Web Services (AWS)
2 years related experience developing in the Pharmacy Hospital/EMR PBM hospital revenue cycle or 340B industry.
Knowledge of pharmacy prescription claims adjudication PBM or medical EDI data a plus
Work Conditions
Remote environment.
Ability to travel 10% of the time.
