Position Summary
Walsh University is a member of NCAA Division II that competes in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference. The Mens Basketball Grad Assistant will assist in the teaching and mentoring of team members relative to sport specific skills NCAA II rules and regulations individual and team development concepts as well as life skills education. Under the supervision of the Head Coach.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions include but are not limited to the following:
Coaching Duties: transportation practices meet preparation educates and mentors student athletes in all aspects of their holistic development; mind body and spirit.
- Recruiting and abiding by NCAA II compliance rules and legislation as well as educating student-athletes about those rules.
- All other duties as assigned or required

Required Qualifications (Knowledge Skills and Abilities)
Must understand and support the Mission Vision and Code of Ethical Conduct of Walsh University as a Catholic higher education university as expressed in Ex Corde Ecclesiae and possess the following:
Education: A bachelors degree is required and acceptance into a Walsh Graduate Program
Work Experience: 3 years experience as a collegiate basketball athlete.
Skills and abilities:
- Professional demeanor and ability to interact with charity towards students staff and faculty. Positive attitude a must.
- Excellent organizational communication and interpersonal skills
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office applications; Word Excel Outlook

- Maintain emotional control under stress. Frequent districtwide and statewide travel; frequent prolonged and irregular hours.
- Must be able to handle and communicate over loud noises in gymnasium/indoors/outdoors; whistles crowd noise; yelling and screaming.
