Job Description


Job Purpose

Junior Manufacturing Engineer acts as a production floor technical support. This position provides support for equipment set ups and for ensuring equipment/tool for operational safety effectiveness and reliability. Junior Manufacturing Engineer recommends and implements improvement to product manufacturability and quality preventive maintenance methods equipment maintenance procedures and working conditions.


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assists Engineering and Manufacturing teams with technical projects.
  • Assists changing over tooling fixturing or settings of production equipment to meet specifications for all jobs in a timely manner.
  • Assists Product Engineering and Manufacturing in transitioning new product launches to Production floor.
  • Participates in pFMEA reviews including risk analysis.
  • Proficient in documenting production SOPs work instructions set up procedures.
  • Assists in the training of operators.
  • Uses standard inspections equipment micrometers calipers rules and gauges.
  • Maintain safe work areas by identifying and eliminating unsafe work practices and hazards; follows and enforces Alan Bairds safety guidelines; sets example of safe work practices.
  • Any other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Requirements
  • Prior knowledge of electrical mechanical tooling equipment and materials used in a manufacturing plant preferred.
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints schematics drawings and service manuals.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
  • Ability to compile and keep updated equipment and process records.
  • Computer literate working knowledge of Microsoft Office Tools.
  • Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills and have demonstrated leadership ability.
  • Demonstrates ability to self-motivate and to problem solve in a fast-paced setting.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Must have good documentation practice.
  • A proven understanding of part workmanship.
  • Ability to analyze data and make recommendations.
  • Ability to troubleshoot manufacturing defects.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to seek and accept feedback from others.
  • Ability to speak read and write in English.

Education & Experience

  • Minimum of 6 months of manufacturing technical experience in high volume manufacturing.
  • Experience preferred in the set-up and maintenance of plant electrical and mechanical equipment.
  • Minimum of Associate Degree in mechanical or manufacturing technology.
  • Hands-on experience with common assembly and measuring tools cutters pliers press drill crimp calipers micrometers etc.

Working conditions

  • While performing the duties of this job the employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions ambient air fumes or airborne particles.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate but occasionally high requiring safety equipment to be utilized.

Physical requirements

  • The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
  • Candidate must be able to perform the physical responsibilities of the job utilizing arms hands and fingers to perform complex functions of manufacturing parts and performing other duties of the job e.g. standing sitting walking throughout the facility and stairs bending squatting and kneeling etc.
  • Ability to lift items weighing up to 50 lbs.

Pay: $70000-$75000/year

The final pay offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and years of experience within the job the type of years and experience within the industry education etc.
