Retail Environment Installer
Custom Millwork Displays & Fixtures
Department: Retail
Reports to: General Manager of KDM Retail
Position Summary
This position is responsible for installation and execution of in-store environments. (Groceries Convenience Stores Restaurants Retail shops etc.) We design engineer and manufacture retail environments that include millwork fixtures decor items as well as some specialty LED lighting components.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
This position is primarily yet not exclusively responsible for the following:
- Fit and Finish is the key to success for an installer out in the field working with custom components. If you can adapt and problem solve in the field that puts you to the front of the line.
- Ability to read and follow architectural drawings or renderings with basic instructions
- You must have your own hand tools. (some power tools can be provided)
- Must be comfortable with the following: measuring miter saw router drill/ impact.
- Experience installing cabinets and countertops
- Be professional when interacting with clients / store manager.
- Work well with helpers / additional crew members
- Must have a drivers license
- Minimum 2 years experience with displays custom store fixtures retail fixtures and or custom commercial millwork.
- Most installations will be local and you will be home daily.
- Some installations will be overnight or require minimal travel.
- Performing and completing any other duties as assigned

High School Diploma and 2 years experience in a related field required.
Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office Excel spreadsheets and CAD software. Strong communication interpersonal time management and organizational skills.
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions short correspondence and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information to one on one and small group situations to customers clients managers and other employees in the organization.
Ability to count add subtract multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers common fractions and decimals.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved instructions from both written and oral communications. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standard situations.
