Job Description

Catholic Charities San Francisco the Juvenile Probation Department (JPD) and the Department of Children Youth and their Families (DCYF) collaborate to provide community-based residential services to boys ages 12-18 under the jurisdiction of the San Francisco Juvenile Court. The San Francisco Boys Home (SFBH) is the only short-term residential therapeutic program (STRTP) located in the City and County of San Francisco. SFBH provides therapeutic educational rehabilitation and recreational services in a home-like setting that is staffed 24 hours a day. The youth live in a residential San Francisco house and receives therapeutic services at our supplemental location Euclid House.

Salary: $118000-$120000 per year

Location: Onsite 5 days a week

The Clinical Supervisor/Head of Service works collaboratively with Program Leadership for the overall clinical supervision and management of services for San Francisco Boys Boys Home.

Service & Clinical Management: Develops maintains and improves standards for client service and written procedures and protocols for services at SFBH:

  • EPIC & Cares Compliance
  • Medical Records
  • Psychiatry & Mental Health Services
    • Weekly/monthly department and agency meetings
    • Special reviews with CSTs Mental Health or Probation workers when needed.

CQI & Contract Management: Responsible for all clinical and mental health implementation and management as required by BHS DPH and DCYF Contracts

  • CQI- Continuous Quality Improvement
  • Mental Health services documentation & annual audits
  • Contracts and payments
  • Program & Mental Health Consultation

Communication & Community: Must consistently practice effective mission-based communication across all levels throughout the organization and programs.

  • Develop and maintain positive professional relationships with collaborative service providers funders and communities.
  • Provide program and agency consultation for growth and expansion.

Supervisory responsibilities & Employee Development: Supervisory responsibilities include hiring promoting compensating training disciplining scheduling directing terminating developing and overseeing performance management of employees.

  • Provide consistent and regular supervision or check ins to the Clinician Rehabilitation Specialist and Consulting Psychiatrists
  • Timekeeping; Manage the time usage and recording of reporting staff to include training disciplining scheduling directing developing and performance management of employees.

Contract Management and Reporting

  • Monitors and administer contracts and agreements programmatically and financially for SFBH.
  • Generate monthly and quarterly reports to contract team in coordination with the program staff for billing.

Education & Experience:

  • Masters degree in mental health field from an accredited college or university
  • Current California Clinical license (LCSW; MFT; PhD) plus 2 years experience post licensure required.
  • Minimum 2-3 years experience working with children and family systems and managing staff.
  • Experience working in residential settings school settings and community-based settings.
  • Must be EPIC trained or willing to be
  • Willing to be Pro-Act certified train staff and programs
  • Must be in possession or willing to complete STRTP Administrator Licensure and keep active.

Knowledge Skills & Abilities:

  • Knowledge of mental health and social welfare systems in California
  • Valid California drivers license
  • Supervisory and conflict management skills are required.
  • Knowledge and experience in compliance with CCL regulations and guidelines
  • Demonstrates ability and knowledge of computer skills utilizing Microsoft Office and Office 365.
  • Willing and able to respond to crisis situations and be part of a rotating admin on-call system
  • Demonstrates the necessary attitudes knowledge and skills to deliver culturally competent services and work effectively in cross-cultural situations.

  • Is responsible for accurate and timely data entry that aids Performance and Quality Improvement (PQI) reporting and case record reviews.
  • Is responsible for accurate and timely submission of case records.
  • Serves on a quarterly case record review committee for Performance and Quality Improvement (PQI) reporting.
  • Serves on department or program Performance and Quality Improvement PQI Committee responsible for monitoring goals and reporting.
