Key Responsibilities
Coach practices 24 days per week including evenings and weekends.
Support athlete development in bouldering lead and/or speed disciplines through structured training and individualized feedback.
Assist in preparing athletes for competitions.
Maintain a safe inclusive and motivating training environment for all team members.
Communicate regularly with the Head Coach and other coaches to align on athlete goals and training progressions.
Attend competitions and team events as needed including travel when applicable.
Support and embody the BP gyms values code of conduct and long-term development philosophy.
Qualifications
Required:
Prior coaching experience in climbing or a related athletic discipline
Experience working with youth or adolescent athletes
Understanding of indoor competition climbing formats (USAC)
Ability to design practices with clear training goals and objectives in line with curriculum
Ability to give clear constructive and encouraging feedback
CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain within 30 days)
Preferred:
Personal experience in competition climbing routesetting.
Familiarity with long-term athlete development and age-appropriate training principles
USAC Coach Certification or SafeSport training (or willingness to obtain)
Schedule & Expectations
Part-time role: 6 16 hours per week
Evening and weekend availability required
Additional hours for competition travel and team events may be available
