Job Description
Toperform laboratory testing for WCHS laboratory. Specific Job Duties/Responsibilities: Under the direct supervision of the Laboratory Manager the MT/MLTprovides technical support by performing analyses tests and procedures thatassist in the prevention diagnosis or treatment of diseases. Operates maintains and calibrates the equipment used to ensure it isoperating efficiently and providing accurate results Maintain documentation according to regulatory agencies and writelaboratory policies and procedures. This position is responsible for using his/her skill accuracyproficiency and dedication to work in all laboratory sections performinganalytical testing on patients specimens. Duties listed are onlyan illustration of various types of work performed. Medical LaboratoryTechnician Must have graduated from an approved school of MedicalTechnology/Laboratory Science with an Associate s degree and becertified/registered by one of the following agencies: MLT(ASCP) MLT(AMT)CLT(NCAMedical Technologist Must have graduated from an approved school of Medical Technology/LaboratoryScience with a bachelor s degree and be certified/registered by one of thefollowing agencies: MT(ASCP) MT(AMT) CLS(NCAMinimum of one year of experience preferred. Knowledge of governmental and regulating policies and standards. N/A Physical Requirements: Normal to light officework which includes the ability to lift up to 10 lbs. Regularly required towalk stand and sit for extended periods of time and use hands to operatecomputer keyboard phone and various office equipment. Cognitive Requirements: Reading writingcalculating Above average socialinteraction skills Reasoning/Analysis Works with minimal to no supervision. Ability to multi-task and adjust priorities when situations change. Language Requirements: Must possess the abilityto read write and speak the English language fluently. Must be able tocontinually and effectively employ professional verbal and writtencommunications skills. Allapplicants will comply with 45 CFR 1301 Subpart D Section 1301.31 C and Dwhich require all prospective employees to sign a declaration prior toemployment regarding all arrests and convictions of child abuse or violentfelonies and to comply with PL 101-630 and PL 101-637 regarding criminalrecords check.
Shift: Usually 7 am to 730. 7 on 7 off. 12 hr shifts except for 1-8 hr shift.
