Description


The Learning and amp; Development Specialist for the Care-First Program plays a vital role in enhancing the capabilities of the workforce within the government sector. This individual is responsible for designing and implementing effective learning solutions that align with organizational goals and improve service delivery in the Alberta Health Care System. The ideal candidate will possess strong skills in instructional design and technology and demonstrate an ability to facilitate engaging learning experiences. By collaborating with various stakeholders this specialist ensures that training programs meet the needs of employees ultimately improving outcomes for the community served.

Responsibilities


  • Design and develop instructional materials and learning program curricula tailored to the specific needs of the Care-First Program.
  • Collaborate with subject-matter experts to assess training needs and create appropriate educational content.
  • Facilitate workshops training sessions and other learning events to effectively deliver program content.
  • Implement and assess instructional strategies ensuring alignment with best practices in instructional design.
  • Provide ongoing support and guidance to staff in utilizing instructional technology tools and resources.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs and make recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Stay updated on trends and developments in the health care sector and instructional technology to incorporate new approaches.

Requirements


  • Bachelors degree preferably in Education Instructional Design or related field.
  • Proven experience in instructional design and delivery within the Alberta Health Care System.
  • Strong facilitation and presentation skills with a focus on engaging adult learners.
  • Expertise in using various instructional technologies and platforms to deliver training.
  • Excellent communication collaboration and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a multidisciplinary environment.
  • Strong knowledge of adult learning principles and instructional systems development processes.
