The Opportunity:
On behalf of our esteemed client we are seeking a proactive and analytically strong Strategic Procurement Engineer to join their team. In this pivotal role youll be instrumental in optimising their supply chain ensuring they procure high-quality materials at competitive prices and building robust supplier relationships. Key Responsibilities:
Supplier Sourcing and Evaluation: Identify evaluate and select suppliers who consistently meet our clients quality cost and delivery requirements.
Contract Negotiation: Negotiate favourable terms and conditions with suppliers aiming to secure competitive agreements and foster long-term strategic partnerships.
Cost Analysis: Conduct detailed cost analyses identifying opportunities for cost savings value improvements and total cost of ownership reductions across procurement activities.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with our clients engineering production and quality assurance teams to ensure procurement activities are fully aligned with project requirements technical specifications and production timelines.
Market Research: Stay informed about relevant market trends emerging technologies and potential supply chain risks to make well-informed purchasing decisions and mitigate disruptions.
Inventory Management: Monitor inventory levels and coordinate closely with logistics to ensure the timely delivery of materials effectively preventing production delays and optimising stock.
Compliance and Documentation: Ensure all procurement activities strictly comply with our clients company policies and regulatory requirements maintaining accurate records and comprehensive documentation.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelors degree in Engineering Supply Chain Management or a related field.
Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in procurement or supply chain management with a strong preference for candidates from the manufacturing industry.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in procurement software and tools strong analytical skills excellent negotiation capabilities and familiarity with contract management principles.
Soft Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a proven ability to work collaboratively and effectively within a dynamic team environment.
Language Proficiency: Fluency in English is required; proficiency in additional languages is considered a significant asset.
