Job Description
Design Coordination & Compliance
Lead technical reviews of architectural drawings specifications and BOQs for high-rise projects (residential/commercial) hospitals warehouses etc.
Ensure designs comply with Malaysian regulations (UBBL local authority requirements) fire safety codes and green building standards (e.g. GBI GreenRE).
Resolve design discrepancies and clashes during construction.
Contractor-Centric Value Engineering
Propose buildability improvements and cost-efficient alternatives without compromising design intent.
Collaborate with QS and project teams to align architectural solutions with budgetary constraints.
Stakeholder & Consultant Management
Liaise with external architects engineers and clients to align design execution with project goals.
Chair technical meetings with consultants subcontractors and authorities (DBKL JKR Bomba).
Site Supervision & Quality Control
Oversee architectural work on-site ensuring adherence to approved drawings materials and workmanship.
Conduct inspections snagging and defect resolution.
Documentation & Compliance
Manage architectural RFIs shop drawings C&S coordination and authority submissions.
Ensure timely approval of architectural deliverables and variation orders.
Team Leadership
Mentor junior architects/technicians and coordinate with project managers engineers and MEP teams.
Requirements
Technical Skills:
Expertise in AutoCAD Revit BIM coordination (Navisworks) and local compliance (UBBL CIDB).
In-depth knowledge of high-rise systems (fa ade structural interfaces MEP integration).
Soft Skills:
Strong leadership negotiation and conflict-resolution abilities.
Fluent in English and Bahasa Malaysia; Mandarin/Cantonese is a plus.
