Job Title: Senior Parent Support Advisor
Contract: 2-3 months contract with a local authority
Job Purpose
- Provide a holistic assessment of families and offer single or multi-agency coordinated packages of support.
- Empower families to identify and tackle challenging behaviors reduce negative family relationships and secure a positive pathway for improvement with emphasis on increasing educational attendance attainment and reducing exclusions.
Key Duties/Accountabilities
- Work in partnership with families offering listening advice and guidance to develop and enhance parenting skills.
- Deliver evidence-based parenting programs to a defined client group.
- Complete initial assessments using the Early Help Framework and make appropriate referrals to other services.
- Take on the role of the Lead Professional coordinating services in the Team Around the Family (TAF) and acting as the single point of contact when required.
- Work in partnership with relevant professionals in statutory and non-statutory organizations.
- Support families who do not meet the thresholds that trigger the involvement of specialist services.
Essential Experience Required
- Experience carrying a complex caseload and key working with referred families taking on the lead professional role to coordinate a multi-agency whole family approach to address difficulties.
- Experience in undertaking whole family assessments ensuring a high standard of service to families including securing the services of other agencies.
Essential Qualification Required
- Relevant qualification in the related field.
Additional Information
- Working hours: 35 hours per week.
- The role requires an Enhanced DBS & barred list check (Child) check.
