PATIENT INFORMATION

Patient Demographics: Pediatrics

Patient Volume/Census: Inpatient service to 24 patients over the past 24 months (minimum experience requirement)

Admissions: Yes

Rounding: Included

Phone Consults: Yes

Case Mix: Pediatric Hospitalist

Reason for Coverage: Coverage for Full-Time Vacancy

PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE

Hospital Privileges Required: Yes

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

REQUIRED PROCEDURES

Standard Pediatric Hospitalist procedures

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Licenses: Active Mississippi license

Board: Board Certified by the American Board of Pediatrics or American Osteopathic Board of Pediatrics within 5 years post-residency

DEA: Active DEA Certification

Certifications: PALS & NRP required

Experience: Inpatient service to 24 patients within the past 24 months

Other Qualifications: MD degree required; three peer references (one from residency director or Chief of Medicine/Pediatrics two from PCPs familiar with applicants work)

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Provide inpatient pediatric care and manage hospital admissions

Perform pediatric medical evaluations and treatment plans

Coordinate with nursing and specialty staff as needed

Participate in on-call coverage as scheduled

Maintain accurate documentation in EMR and comply with hospital standards
