Job Description

Job Overview
Adelphi is seeking experienced Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioners (PMHNPs) to provide comprehensive psychiatric care to adult offenders housed in correctional facilities across North Carolina. This is an on-site full-time contract opportunity serving either male or female facilities depending on the assignment. The selected providers will work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team to deliver evidence-based mental health services in alignment with state and correctional standards.

Shift Schedule: 1 Full-time position 40 hours/week Monday to Friday 8-hour shifts

Requirements
Unrestricted North Carolina NP license with PMHNP certification
BLS ACLS and DEA certification required
Minimum 1 year post-licensure experience in psychiatric or correctional settings (preferred)
Proficiency with EMR systems (HERO preferred)
Must be able to function effectively in a secure environment

Key Responsibilities
Conduct psychiatric evaluations mental health assessments and crisis interventions for incarcerated adults
Diagnose mental health disorders and develop individualized treatment plans
Prescribe and manage psychotropic medications according to facility protocols
Monitor and adjust treatment based on patient response
Document all clinical interactions using the HERO EMR system
Collaborate with physicians nurses psychologists and correctional staff
Participate in interdisciplinary treatment planning and team meetings
Ensure compliance with HIPAA DAC regulations and PREA standards
Facilitate referrals for higher levels of care when necessary
