Are you ready to take the lead in complex high-impact engineering projects within the UKs most critical infrastructure sectors At Assystem Energy & Infrastructure Ltd (AEIL) were looking for a Senior Electrical Control & Instrumentation (EC&I) Engineer to strengthen our growing EC&I business.
This is your opportunity to step into a pivotal role - working at the forefront of Nuclear Decommissioning Defence New Build and Infrastructure - where your technical leadership will directly shape innovative safe and sustainable engineering solutions.
Your missions:
As a Senior EC&I Engineer you will:
Lead and deliver EC&I solutions with minimal supervision across a variety of high-profile projects.
Supervise small EC&I teams mentor junior engineers and oversee the quality of engineering deliverables.
Engage directly with clients providing expert advice and developing design proposals.
Apply your understanding of health & safety environmental impact design lifecycle and regulatory compliance.
Drive project success by managing schedules reviewing technical output and identifying scope changes.
Be the technical authority on at least two EC&I specialties such as:
Control Systems
Functional Safety
Radiometrics & Special Instruments
Electrical Supply Infrastructure
Process Instrumentation
Machinery Safety Compliance (2006/42/EC)

Qualifications :
Qualifications/Skills to be successful:
Essential:
A strong track record in delivering EC&I engineering solutions across full project life cycles.
Minimum of 3 years as a Senior Engineer or equivalent in a highly regulated industry (e.g. Nuclear Defence Oil & Gas).
Proficiency in relevant standards like BS7671 Electrical Equipment (Safety) Regulations 2016 and strong documentation/configuration management experience.
A degree in Electrical Control or Instrumentation Engineering (or HNC/HND with significant experience).
Membership with a professional body (e.g. IET) and working towards or holding EngTech status or above.
Desirable:
Chartered Engineer (CEng) status.
Experience with nuclear safety cases BIM projects functional safety standards and EC&I-specific CAD tools (e.g. AutoCAD Electrical EPLAN).
Familiarity with technical design risk management (e.g. HAZOP FMECA).
