Project Overview:
Craig Technologies is the Engineering Procurement and Construction (EPC) partner on the Bechtel & Northrop Grumman team to deliver the Sentinel Program which is modernizing the ground-based leg of the U.S. nuclear deterrent triad including intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) systems and launch infrastructure. Craig Technologiess scope of service in Sentinels current Engineering & Manufacturing Development phase focuses on the ground infrastructure component of the program.

Job Summary:
In this role you will conduct field investigations and client interviews to determine work scope and cost estimates for projects civil/structural aspects. You will lead design development modification evaluation and constructability reviews of civil/structural components and processes. Your technical expertise will ensure the unique and complex requirements of projects civil/structural aspects are met.
In this role as Senior Civil Engineer you will support the civil design for the project. This will entail originating/checking civil calculations specifications material requisitions and technical studies or reports. Additionally checking of design drawings and review and coordination of vendor information and leading technical discussions and constructability reviews. #LI-SB1
Major Responsibilities:
Schedules conducts or coordinates detailed phases of the civil/structural engineering work for a global business unit a project or staff group to include the preparation of original designs layouts details drawings and specifications for structures building roadways railroads etc.
Participates in the design development and modification of civil/structural components andprocesses utilizingrelevant Engineering Department Procedures(EDPs) design standards and guides BechtelStandard Application Programs (BSAPs) Design Control Check List (DCCL) and Design Review Notices(DRNs).
Designs structures using knowledge of structural analysis including statics dynamics and materials engineering.
Determines the appropriate use of various structural elements such as steel wood masonry and concrete to ensure appropriate material is used based on load or stress requirements.
Originates and checks structural engineering deliverables such as steel and concrete calculations specifications and material requisitions.
Analyzes problems with conflicting design requirements sketches ideas and possible solutions.
Analyzes and reports on the suitability of unconventional materials techniques and/or difficult coordination requirements.
Assists in the preparation of cost estimates quantity take-offs for proposals forecasts and change orders.
Completes civil/structural documentation and procedures for installationand maintenance.
Provides assistance toproject and constructionmanagement in identifying and complying withproject civil/structural requirements and in addressingissues as they arise during project execution.
Evaluates selects and applies standard civil engineering methods techniques procedures and criteria using independent judgment in making adaptations and modifications.
Coordinates work and collaborates with other engineering disciplines procurement and construction.
Designs facilities roadways site layouts grading plans using knowledge of civil analysis materials engineering and vehicular traffic and patterns.
Originates and checks civil engineering deliverables such as calculations specifications drawings and material requisitions.
Assists in the preparation of cost estimates quantity take-offs for proposals forecasts and change orders.
Prepares or assists in preparation of conceptual studies designs reports or proposals.
Coordinates civil engineering efforts in assigned areas with specialty groups engineering disciplines the client vendor contractors construction and other functional groups.
Provides technical assistance to other civil personnel and interacts with project functions the customer and regulatory agency personnel in the resolution of complex regulatory issues and industry codes and standards.
Assists in constructability reviews.
Supports construction by dispositioning field change requests and nonconformance reports.
Acts as a mentor or coach for subordinate engineers and designers.
Leads and/or participates in technical discussions with client suppliers construction etc.
Education and Experience Requirements:
Requires a bachelors degree (or international equivalent) and 5-8 years of relevant experience or 9-12 years of relevant work experience.
Required Knowledge and Skills:
Career-level position within field.
Considered skilled and proficient in discipline.
Professional with an understanding of area of specialization resolves a wide range of issues.
US citizenship is required per contract requirement.
Must be able to complete and pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
Prior experience in designing facilities roadways site layout and/or grading plans.
Ability to independently execute the design of facilities roadways site layout and/or grading plans.
Experience with CADD applications such as Civil 3D Revit or MicroStation.
Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel.
Thorough knowledge of engineering deliverables such as drawings specifications and material requisitions and construction methods.
Understands work processes of other disciplines and departments on projects.
Ability to express technical issues in a clear and concise manner both written and verbally.
Ability to resolve design issues with subordinates suppliers other engineering disciplines construction and the client.
Possess active security clearance.
Prior experience working with government agencies preferably the Department of Defense.
Experience with procurement automation tools.
Intermediate knowledge of developing CSI Masterformat specifications or SpecsIntact.
Design experience with Unified Facilities Criteria and the Whole Building Design Guide.
The salary range for this role is $78000 $130000; however Craig Technologies considers several factors when extending an offer for employment including but not limited to the role and associated responsibilities a candidates work experience education/training and preferred skills and knowledge.
