The primary responsibility of this site-based role is to develop coordinate and implement environmental health and safety improvement programs elevating facilities to best practice standards and promoting safety throughout the organization within the scope of responsibility.
Responsibilities
- Develops and implements robust EHS programs training initiatives and policies to reduce incidents and ensure compliance with regulations and company requirements.
- Provide EHS leadership and direction for management professional technical and support staff in area of responsibility.
- Ensure systems are in place to enable area of responsibility to operate in legal and ethical compliance regarding EHS issues.
- Leads efforts to educate employees on best practices precautions and established procedures.
- Provide business perspective strategic and tactical direction to develop and implement EHS initiatives for the EHS Long range plan.
- Authority to represent AbbVie externally on matters related to EHS with external regulatory agencies and non-government organizations.
- Maintain a broad understanding of local regional and global EHS regulations and practices for area of responsibility.
- Leads efforts to educate employees on best practices precautions and established procedures.

Ensures compliance with all applicable local state and federal regulatory requirements which include but are not limited to OSHAs Process Safety Management (PSM) standard (29 CFR 1910.119) and EPAs Risk Management Planning (RMP) rule (40 CFR 68) Mechanical Integrity programs PCI DOT EPA etc.
- Creates a safety culture by setting directions to reduce or eliminate operations-related injuries or accidents damage/loss of product or equipment and unnecessary costs by ensuring that all equipment and facilities are maintained consistently with safety security hygiene and standards set by AbbVie.

Qualifications :
- Bachelors Degree (EHS related Engineering) plus 5 12 years of EHS related experience or masters degree (EHS related Engineering) plus 5 8 years of EHS related experience. EHS related experience in manufacturing or laboratory environments is required.
- Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) certification is preferred but not required.
- Working experience performing qualitative and quantitative occupational hygiene risk assessment and exposure monitoring including but not limited to developing monitoring strategy issuing technical reports and generating recommendations to reduce risk.
- Working experience in implementing EHS regulations conducting risk assessments root cause analysis incident investigations interacting with regulatory agencies and external organizations and managing cross functional teams.
- Development of practical applicable standards and/or policies that meet business objectives. Technical expertise in the EHS functions as well as technical writing and business communications.
- Ability to actively listen build and maintain effective working relationships with internal/ external colleagues and stakeholders and resolve conflicts.
- Ability to successfully manage projects and programs.

EHS professionals and non-EHS personnel at commercial affiliates and US
Field-based and Office-based employees.
Corporate EHS and Fleet Management.

The compensation range described below is the range of possible base pay compensation that the Company believes in good faith it will pay for this role at the time of this posting based on the job grade for this position. Individual compensation paid within this range will depend on many factors including geographic location and we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future. Salary: $106500- $202500
