Summary
The Maintenance Manager is responsible for the effective management of all maintenance functions and activities for Chicago Heights Illinois facility. Must work closely with Safety Production Warehouse and the Quality departments to ensure that all areas maintenance needs are met in a timely manner. Controls the Inventory Management for the Maintenance Department. Effectively manage the departments Supervisor and employees covering up to three shifts.
Key Responsibilities
- Implements the plants overall preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
- Tracks necessary metrics to identify improvement opportunities (OEE) notice certain trends and ensure plant needs are met. Keeps records of downtime and provides needed information and data as needed.
- Plans modification and/or installation of equipment to insure safe and improved production capabilities.
- Requires the ability to create outage plans for short- and long-term periods.
- Manages vendors projects. Administer contracts and proposals with vendors contractors and consultants.
- Facilitate the evolution/refinement of Maintenance activities to minimize planned and unplanned downtime (PMs changeovers etc.).
- Maintains supply source information for use.
- Prepares and completes formal purchasing bids and formal bidding of facilities services and maintains the contracts. Prepares bids for purchases of services and materials.
- Assess and maintain and approved contractor consultant and vendor database.
- Assist in overseeing projects; reviews and inspects progress and quality of work; enforces the standards of .
- Prepares and makes recommendations for the budget of departmental expenditure requirements including equipment and capital projects. Responsible for managing departments budget.
- Assures compliance with policies standard and with government regulatory agencies.
- Responsible for enforcing and overseeing safety regulations maintaining good housekeeping.
- Assists with training and developing maintenance staff skill sets.

Qualifications
- Bachelors Degree in Engineering (Mechanical Electrical or other related field) required.
- 6 years of previous experience is required.
- Must be self-motivated with extensive knowledge in mechanical electrical pneumatic hydraulic and PLC components.
- Safety health and environmental awareness.
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge of current Microsoft Office applications and Microsoft Project.
- Strong organizational communication and leadership skills.
- Team player and ability to set priorities analyze problems work independently and manage time effectively.
- Understanding of continuous improvement and maintenance improvement methodologies.
- Flexibility to work extra hours up to include weekends.
