Job Description: We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Underwriting Assistant to join our new wholesale broker team. The ideal candidate will play a key role in supporting underwriters in the evaluation and assessment of risks.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist underwriters in reviewing and analyzing new business submissions for all products ensuring accuracy and completeness of information.
  • Gather relevant data to evaluate potential exposures and loss trends.
  • Utilize underwriting tools and software to generate quotes proposals and policy documents.
  • Communicate with wholesale brokers and clients to obtain additional information and clarify underwriting requirements.
  • Maintain underwriting files and documentation in compliance with company policies and regulatory standards.
  • Support underwriting team in special projects initiatives and process improvements as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Business Finance Risk Management or related field.
  • Previous experience in insurance underwriting analysis or related field preferred. - Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with attention to detail.
  • Self starter driven and can operate in an ambiguous environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and underwriting software/systems.
