As a Front-end Engineer you will contribute to the success of the Daily Starting Point for Builders in Zalando Sunrise. This product is central to the success of our departments strategy. You will be shaping an extendable platform that will help our 250 teams develop and operate 4K applications and discover all that is needed to manage 30K weekly builds with 5k weekly deployments at Zalando.
Our team drives the centralization of all meaningful information tooling & resources needed by Builders of digital solutions (software engineers data scientists and their stakeholders) presenting it in a beautiful and consistent way.
Whats the API specification for that service This service is down how can I solve it Who owns it How can I find the documentation of it Our system centralizes and organizes answers to all these questions and more.
WHAT WED LOVE YOU TO DO (AND LOVE DOING)
Build beautiful front ends based on Backstage for the tooling that helps teams build deploy and operate software at Zalando.
Run maintain and extend a platform that improves productivity for 250 teams and is easy to collaborate on.
Design and implement solutions to simplify our systems reduce technical debt and improve scalability and reliability of our platform.
Show a strong customer/user focus and translate business requirements into effective technical solutions..
Take high levels of ownership and accountability leading critical projects and collaborating across team boundaries.
WED LOVE TO MEET YOU IF YOU
Have experience in front-end technologies in particular with Typescript and React with at least 2 years of hands-on experience and solid web development fundamentals (HTML CSS responsiveness accessibility).
Have a good understanding of backend for frontend pattern (BFF) being able to create integration between services in .
Ability to deploy and operate applications in a cloud infrastructure. You care about observability automated tests and fast delivery.
Curiosity in working closely with product management and design having a passion for usability and an eye for good design.
Are an excellent communicator within the engineering community with strong verbal and written communication skills in English able to present complex technical concepts clearly and in a structured manner.
Experience in building internal developer portals (IDP) is a major plus in particular with Backstage.
Experience in Python or Go is a plus.
