Job Description

Our medical robotics team at ZEISS is looking for a highly motivated intern to contribute to research and development in robotics for next-generation medical applications. If you are passionate about pushing the boundaries of technology and applying your skills to real-world healthcare challenges join us!

Your Role

  • Develop and test concepts for medical robotics robot-assisted surgery

  • Work on robotics sensor signal processing and fusion creation of models from sensor inputs machine learning

  • Evaluate concepts both in simulation and on real setups get hands-on experience with robotics in the medical field

  • Conduct experiments in our robotics laboratory

  • Present and discuss research findings in team and department meetings

  • Work closely with experts in robotics sensor signal processing modeling and medical technology as part of an international project

  • Work with researchers and engineers in a collaborative environment at the ZEISS Innovation Hub Karlsruhe right on site of the KIT-campus north

Your profile

  • You are enrolled in a Bachelors or Masters program in computer science electrical engineering or mechatronics (preferably) - Alternatively in biomedical engineering physics or comparable

  • You have basic knowledge in robotics modeling and sensor processing

  • You have programming knowledge in at least one of the following: Python ROS C

  • Knowledge in optical sensing systems optical coherence tomography is a plus

  • Fluent English language skills

  • A hands-on mentality an open mind excellent problem-solving communication and innovation skills

  • Passion for innovation and enthusiasm for innovative technologies as well as motivation to work in agile interdisciplinary teams
