Program Overview
The incumbent of this position is responsible for ensuring the provision of support with both operation of the 444 Logan Food Bank and marketing & promotion of the Senior Advisory Councils podcast within the Seniors Active Living & Outreach portfolio. WoodGreens Seniors Active Living Centres offer health promotion and wellness programs educational workshops community engagement activities cultural events outings and more. Our trained instructors lead fall prevention and exercise classes for all activity levels helping seniors stay healthy active and independent.
What You Will Do- Performs administrative functions for SALC & Outreach as assigned by the Manager.
Provides administrative support for program functions special events consumers councils and interagency activities including activities such as booking rooms and preparing materials.
Receive food drop-off donations from the delivery service and ensure proper handling
Help to set up and clean up the Food Bank area before and after service
Distribute food items to clients in a friendly and respectful manner
Maintain cleanliness and organization in the serving/distribution areas
Follow food safety and hygiene guidelines while handling food
Assist with basic clean-up tasks including waste disposal and surface cleaning
Support with end-to-end delivery of marketing initiatives including social media website print in-person and other as identified.
Assist in developing marketing collateral including social posts digital ads website content print content and other as identified.
Assist in generating regular reports on marketing statistics and trends and/or campaign or asset performance.
Assist the execution of a media relations strategy including developing media lists liaison with media attending media events and supporting the pick up of WoodGreen content by media.
Support content collection including attending events or visiting sites to capture client staff or community testimonials and/or photos.
Support research discovery and analysis work where required.
Takes minutes as required.
Participates in regular supervisory sessions with the Senior Managers.
Performs other related duties as required from time to time.
Due to WoodGreens multi-site locations this position entails in-person workdays at 444 Logan Ave 721 Broadview Ave 815 Danforth Ave and remote virtual work.
To be eligible youth must:
be between 15 and 30 years of age at the beginning of the employment period*;
be a Canadian citizen permanent resident or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment**; and
have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations.
*The youth must be 15 years of age at the beginning of the employment period. The youth may be more than 30 years of age at the end of the employment period as long as the youth was 30 at the beginning of the employment period.
**International students are not eligible participants. As the objective of the CSJ program is to support youth entering the Canadian labour market the temporary nature of an international students time in Canada does not allow for a long-term connection to the labour market. International students include anyone who is temporarily in Canada for studies and who is not a Canadian citizen permanent resident or person who has been granted refugee status in Canada. Youth awaiting a refugee status ruling as well as those who hold a temporary visitor visa youth visa or work visa are ineligible.

Reliability and punctuality
Diploma in Marketing Management Digital Engagement Advertising or related field
Excellent organization and time management skills
Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
Demonstrated ability to operate independently with sound decision-making skills.
and social media platforms with graphic design and/or in copy writing an asset
Experience in customer service or direct service delivery an asset.
