Job Description
K12 Art Teacher
Location: AZ Compass Prep
Job Type: Full-Time
AZ Compass Prep is seeking a passionate and creative K12 Art Teacher to inspire students and bring visual arts to life across all grade levels. This role plays an essential part in our schools performing and visual arts programs collaborating closely with other departments to contribute to schoolwide productions showcases and community events.
What Youll Do:
- Teach engaging art lessons for students in grades K12
- Design and implement standards-based units that develop skills in drawing painting sculpture and mixed media
- Collaborate with the performing arts team for school productions and events
- Monitor and assess student progress through a variety of methods
- Provide individualized support to meet student needs
- Create a positive inclusive classroom environment
- Organize and display student artwork for school and community exhibitions
What Were Looking For:
- Bachelors degree in Art or related field (required)
- Valid teaching certification/license appropriate for K12 Art (required)
- Experience working with diverse student populations
- Strong classroom management and instructional design skills
- Ability to collaborate and co-plan across disciplines
- Working artist mindset and commitment to student creativity and expression
Key Skills:
- Strong verbal and written communication
- Ability to prioritize organize and manage multiple projects
- Understanding of various student learning styles
- Comfort with integrating technology into instruction
- Willingness to work as part of a collaborative team
