St. Edwards University a nationally ranked independent Catholic university and Hispanic Serving Institution (HSI) invites applications for a Full time 9 position to develop curriculum and teach in the Department of Occupational Therapy beginning August 2025 St. Edwards is characterized by its commitment to the Holy Cross educational mission of educating the hearts and minds of a diverse student body deeply committed to social justice. The successful candidate is responsible for planning developing and teaching the curriculum helping to establish fieldwork and capstone sites and working with the program director to assist in the development of the program. Additional responsibilities include assisting with recruitment and admissions processes; advising students; developing coursework providing service to the department college and community as strategically planned and appointed; participating in scholarly endeavors and other duties as assigned by the OT Program Director. For consideration we are seeking candidates who meet the following criteria:
Full-time core faculty teaching in OTD programs must hold a doctoral degree awarded by a USDE-recognized regional accrediting body. The doctoral degree is not limited to a doctorate in occupational therapy.
Must be licensed as an occupational therapist in Texas.
A minimum of 1 year of full-time teaching experience at the college/university level.
A minimum of 2 years of clinical experience.
Experience in scholarly activity preferred.
Essential Responsibilities Include: Candidates should have the interest and ability or p potential to teach various undergraduate courses and support a diverse student body.
Responsible for regulatory and policy compliance as it applies to the position.
Communicates between the academic institution and clinical Education Sites
Assist in the recruitment of clinical educational experiences and helps the program maintain relationships with existing sites
Communicates with appropriate stakeholders (e.g. clinical education sites/facilities faculty and students) to maintain current with policies and practices of the educational program the clinical education sites and any potential health care changes affecting clinical practice and education
Advises and provides guidance and support as required to problem solve and discuss pertinent issues with students.
There may be additional support requested over summer semesters as needed
Other duties as assigned trained and qualified to do.
