Job Description

Carotek a SunSource company provides process equipment solutions for the industrial commercial and municipal markets in North Carolina South Carolina Tennessee Georgia and Virginia. Carotek represents over 85 manufacturers as their process equipment distributor representative and repair center for pumps blowers heat exchangers valves instrumentation IIoT steam hydronicsand municipal products.

SUMMARY
Estimates plans and design (as required) electrical control panels products or systems associated with industrial equipment. Monitors activities involved in the fabrication of those products and systems. Will utilize AutoCAD in role and must have a degree in an engineering discipline electrical preferred.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Client RFQ Review and Response
Read client RFQs including electrical schematics P&IDs PFDs process descriptions and equipment specifications. to develop electrical scope of work.
Develop Bill of Material (BOM) in accordance with client specifications.
Research and solicit component cost and availability.

Assess labor hours required for design and fabrication.
Develop total system cost and selling price and review with management.
Produce formal proposal to client including detailed descriptions of scope of work.

Project Management
Review and verify acceptance of client order in accordance with our Terms and Conditions.
Assess necessary calculations such as circuit loading transformer sizing etc. as required.
Specify equipment through vendors in accordance with client specifications and submit for approval.
Produce Electrical Drawings with AutoCAD software.
Participate in design review meetings as required.
Submit drawings for approval to client and address changes upon request.
Submit Components for purchase to Purchasing Administrator.
Interact with production personnel to define and solve manufacturing/design issues.
Manage fabrication of project through close coordination with client Shop Superintendent Quality Manager and other staff.
Manage FAT Testing in accordance with client specifications.
Interact with client regarding scope schedule and requesting of information as needed.
Interact with vendors regarding component selection pricing and delivery.
On-site start up assistance as required.
Coordinate with purchasing quality sales production and accounting personnel.
Advise Manager of work status workload problems and progress as related to work assignments.

Other

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position in office. Hours of work and days are Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

Preferred Education
Bachelors degree (B. S.) or Associates degree (A.S.) in Electrical or Mechatronics from a College or University; or equivalent experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Experience
Experience in a manufacturing or fabrication environment preferably in the customization assembly process of control panels.
Must know how to read and interpret a P&ID
AutoCAD

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is regularly required to sit; occasionally required to climb or balance; and stoop kneel crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision distance vision color vision peripheral vision depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment
This job operates in a professional environment where there is ambient room temperature and lighting as typically found in an office. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers phones photocopiers filing cabinets and fax machines. The noise level is usually moderate.
The performance of this position may occasionally require exposure to the manufacturing and shipping/receiving areas where under certain areas the noise level is high; may require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses with side shields foot and/or hearing protection.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

Travel
Occasional travel is expected which may require overnight stays and weekends. Ability to transport self to various facility sites as required. If using own motor vehicle must possess a valid state drivers license acceptable driving record and proof of insurance that meets the minimum standards of the state.
