Yuba College (YC) is seeking an equity-minded dynamic collaborative and innovative Instructor to serve as Nursing Faculty. DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES : Provide theory and clinical instruction for Associate Degree Nursing Program in the areas of Medical-Surgical Nursing. Participate in the development implementation and evaluation of the total nursing curriculum. Serve as a liaison between health agencies and the College. Will be assigned to teach Medical-Surgical Nursing in the ADN Nursing Program at the various campuses. Familiarity with online and interactive TV instruction desired.
Required Qualifications
CREDENTIAL : Hold a current valid license to practice as a Registered Nurse and be free from any disciplinary action by the California Board of Registered Nursing. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS : The successful candidate by the final filing date must possess the minimum qualifications for instructors in Nursing required by the Board of Registered Nursing: (1) A masters or higher degree from an accredited college or university in Nursing; OR Bachelors in Nursing AND Masters in Health Education or Health Science OR the equivalent OR the minimum qualifications as set by the Board of Registered Nursing whichever is higher; AND (2) Direct patient care experience within the previous five (5) years in the nursing area to which he or she is assigned which can be met by: (A) One (1) years continuous full-time or its equivalent experience providing direct patient care as a registered nurse in the designated nursing area; or (B) One (1) academic year of registered nurse level clinical teaching experience in the designated nursing area or its equivalent that demonstrates clinical competency. EQUIVALENCY REQUIREMENT : All applicants are required to meet the minimum qualifications specified by the Yuba Community College District ( YCCD ) by the application filing date. Alternatively applicants must have obtained an equivalency determination from the District before the publication of the Recruitment Announcement. This ensures that candidates either meet the standard qualifications or have received official recognition of their equivalent qualifications. For equivalency application instructions click HERE . FOREIGN TRANSCRIPTS : If you possess foreign transcripts please note that they must undergo a U.S. evaluation and translation. Contact the Office of People & Culture (HR) through their website to access a list of agencies that provide services for evaluating and translating foreign transcripts. This step is crucial to ensure that your educational background is accurately assessed and understood in the context of U.S. educational standards and requirements. REQUIRED DUTIES : Demonstrate sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic socioeconomic cultural disability and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.
