The Role
The Housekeeper is responsible for maintaining a clean safe and hygienic environment within resident apartments common areas and other designated spaces. This includes performing daily cleaning tasks ensuring surfaces and high-touch areas are disinfected and managing waste disposal in compliance with facility guidelines. The Housekeeper will also prepare vacant apartments for new residents and contribute to the overall comfort and well-being of the community through exceptional service.
Key Responsibilities:
- General Cleaning: Perform daily cleaning duties such as dusting sweeping mopping and vacuuming in resident apartments common areas and other assigned spaces.
- Sanitation & Hygiene: Disinfect high-touch surfaces fixtures and areas to maintain a sanitary environment. Clean windows mirrors and glass surfaces to ensure a pristine appearance.
- Vacant Apartment Preparation: Prepare vacant resident apartments for new occupants by thoroughly cleaning and sanitizing surfaces appliances and fixtures. Arrange furniture and dcor as per established guidelines.
- Waste Management: Empty trash and recycling bins regularly and ensure waste is sorted and disposed of following facility procedures.
- Inventory Management: Monitor and maintain inventory levels of cleaning supplies toiletries and other necessary items. Report any shortages or needs to the appropriate staff.
- Maintenance Support: Identify and report maintenance or repair issues to the maintenance team in a timely manner.
- Safety & Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines while performing tasks. Recognize potential safety hazards and take appropriate action or report them to the appropriate department.
- Resident Interaction: Communicate professionally with residents staff and visitors. Respond promptly and courteously to resident inquiries and requests.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with other team members including maintenance and administrative staff to ensure a smooth and efficient workflow.
- Additional Duties: Perform other housekeeping-related duties as assigned to support the needs of the community.
Position Requirements:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Experience: Previous housekeeping experience is preferred particularly in senior living or healthcare settings.
- Skills & Knowledge:
- Familiarity with proper cleaning techniques and sanitation standards.
- Knowledge of safe chemical handling and usage.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities.
- Effective communication skills with residents staff and management.
- Positive patient and empathetic attitude when interacting with residents.
- Ability to handle sensitive or confidential information with discretion.
- Proficiency in spoken and written English is required to effectively communicate with team members follow instructions and ensure safety in the workplace.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods (up to 90% of the workday).
- Ability to lift carry push or pull up to 50 pounds.
- Capability to stoop bend and stretch in small or tight spaces.

Compensation and Benefits:
Enso Village is committed to equal pay and transparency. The salary range for this position is $23.50 -$25.00 per hour. This salary range provided as a general guideline and compensation decisions are dependent on a variety of factors including candidates work experience education/training key skills external non-profit market data and business considerations.
