Our Coyote Missile Principal Program Quality Lead (PQL) in Land and Air Defense Systems (LADS) will support U.S. and foreign programs within the Coyote portfolio at our Tucson AZ location. In this role youll drive a robust quality culture practices and collaboration efforts.
As the primary quality interface for the product Integrated Product Team (IPT) youll be responsible for ensuring the program meets all Quality & Mission Assurance requirements. This includes coordinating with functional Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) and overseeing scope of work through all integrated product development phases from design to production and sustainment. Youll be the customers advocate internal to the team ensuring we meet our obligations and expectations.
The PQL develops and monitor quality metrics to drive proactive continuous improvement initiatives working closely with integrated teams to enforce process rigor. In the Program Quality role you will support contract start-up activities production and sell-off. You will primarily engage our factories and suppliers that aid the Coyote portfolio implement quality processes to reduce overall product lifecycle cost and risk.
The PQL shall monitor quality metrics to drive continuous improvement initiatives working closely with integrated teams to enforce process rigor transition to production activities you will conduct Production Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (PFMEA) First Article Inspection and Quality Control Plan efforts and play a key role in Material Review Board (MRB) Change Control Board (CCB) and Risk Review Board (RRB). Working as part of the QA Team conducting day-to-day Quality Assurance activities whilst engaging with key stakeholders across the organization.
The PQL will be responsible for ensuring reviews and assessments of program performance are performed including technical assessments of systems lessons learned technology and programmatic (cost schedule and risks and/or defects) practices assuring Quality management System (QMS) processes are defined and implemented.
This is an on-site position in Tucson Arizona.
What You Will Do:
- Engage on both strategic and tactical levels focusing on quality cost and schedule performance early engagement influencing and providing differentiating quality value to program teams and customers.
- Be the Quality POC for the Coyote launcher or missile products interfacing across programs key suppliers and customers supporting technical quality and financial performance and compliance to Raytheon procedures and contractual requirements.
- Develop partnerships with senior leaders IPTs customers and quality functions of the program team to define steps necessary to implement proactive quality strategies that shape Raytheons ability to become the provider of choice.
- Engage on both strategic and tactical levels focusing on quality cost and schedule performance early engagement influencing and providing differentiating quality value to program teams and customers.
- Generation of new CORE (Customer Oriented Result and Excellence) CoPQ (Cost of Poor Quality) projects to reduce costs/increase efficiency of the Stinger program.
- Monitor / lead root cause corrective action (RCCA) and FRACAS activities for systemic issues and to ensure extensive RCCA.
- Support issue resolutions and solutions to production.
- Implement of Advanced Product Quality Planning in accordance with AS9145 as applicable.
Qualifications You Must Have:
- Typically requires a degree in Science Technology Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of eight (8) years of prior relevant experience.
- Working experience with ISO 9001 and/or AS9100 Quality Management Systems.
- Working experience leading teams in failure analysis root cause analysis corrective and preventative action.
- Working experience in providing technical program support for manufacturing and/or design processes.

Qualifications We Prefer:
- Six Sigma Lean and / or American Society for Quality (ASQ) certifications
- Experience achieving goals and continuous improvement.
- Experience Reviewing Statement of Work (SOW) Corrective Action Requests (CAR)
- Experience interfacing directly with customers
- Experience presenting reviewing and/or approving changes through a formal Change Control Board (CCB).
- Experience making decisions and applying resolutions with appropriate supervisory intervention.
- Experience in risk mitigation and opportunity management.
- Experience comprehending and translating system requirements as well as contractual requirements to ensure full compliance is flowed down through product assembly and test documentation.
- Experience working with customers suppliers and in a team environment.
- Experience facilitating cross-functional teams in systematic improvement activities (e.g. 6-sigma lean manufacturing).
- Experience with Process Re-invention Integrating Systems for Manufacturing (PRISM) or SAP.
- Experience in First Article Inspections per AS9102.
- Experience using cost schedule and technical performance including Cost Accounting Methodologies (Earned Value).
- Experience with one or more of the following: Rockets/Missiles Electro Optical/RADAR systems manufacturing of electrical systems and testing and electrostatic discharge (ESD) requirements CCA manufacturing to IPC/EIA JSTD-001 Class 3.
